CURRENT MANUFACTURER OFFERS - MIC38300

micrel logo
The MIC38300 is the first in a family of SuperLNR™ regulators from Micrel, and enables a stable, low-noise, low-footprint power supply for low-voltage FPGAs, ASICs and other digital ICs.

The MIC38300 has an input voltage range of 3.0V to 5.5V, and produces a programmable output of 1.0V to 5.0V with less than 5mV peak-to-peak noise. Transient performance is equivalent to typical high-speed LDOs, with less than 30mV of output voltage deviation including during fast load changes. The MIC38300 also achieves 70dB Power Supply Rejection Ratio (PSRR). The output-current capability is 2.2A continuous and 3.0A peak.

The high operating efficiency simplifies thermal management and reduces heatsink size. Two resistors are used to programme the output voltage and the design can be completed without an external inductor. This allows the entire solution to be built within a footprint less than 40mm2. External input and output capacitors are required, allowing designers to optimise transient performance, high-frequency noise, undershoot and overshoot, and bill of materials costs.
The MIC38300 is housed in a 4mm x 6mm x 0.9mm 28-pin MLF® package. An external pin is provided to adjust the switching frequency, allowing designers to optimise output ripple without losing efficiency.
