The USB-Dongle and derivative board family is a low-cost and easy-to-use third-party demo platform for popular NXP microcontrollers. This versatile tool can be used to programme a variety of NXP microcontrollers, such as the NXP LPC900, ARM7 LPC2000, and 89V52X2 microcontrollers using ISP, ICP or IAP programming.

Many of the derivative boards are pre-loaded for easy development with a specific microcontroller. Other derivative boards are socket boards with a ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) socket to enable programming of various microcontrollers in a common package such as TSSOP or PLCC. With the help of a USB-Dongle to provide power and a programming interface, the derivative board brings out every pin of the NXP microcontroller to a standard 0.10" spacing header footprint for easy probing of signals, prototyping, or wire-wrapping.

The USB-Dongle is compatible with any compiler or assembler that can generate hex files, and provides a virtual COM Port interface that allows you to download and programme hex files using Flash Magic or other common utilities once the 14-pin USB-Dongle connector is attached to the standard USB port of any PC.

Features:
• Low cost tool for prototyping
• Supports many NXP microcontrollers
• USB port powered, so no external power supply required
• Supports USB 2.0
• Plugs directly into any standard USB Port – great for laptops
• Works with the free NXP Flash Magic software available on the web
