PSoC starter kit optimised for embedded applications The PSoC First Touch™ starter kit from Cypress Semiconductor eases access to PSoC programmable design by combining four embedded designs powered by a single PSoC mixed-signal array and the PSoC Express visual embedded-system design tool. The FirstTouch kit includes a USB dongle, referred to as the FTPC bridge, and a multifunction expansion card, referred to as the FTMF expansion card. The FTMF expansion card demonstrates a variety of applications using PSoC-powered peripherals, providing customers with out-of-the-box CapSense solutions for sensing touch, temperature, light and proximity. There are four unused analogue or digital GPIO pins on the FTPC port and four unused analogue or digital GPIO pins on the expansion card. These support custom designs, and also connect signals to the FTPC Bridge or the FirstTouch expansion cards. Many more designs are available on the Cypress Semiconductor website, and custom designs can also be built quickly and easily using PSoC Express. A detachable expansion card also allows embedded-systems designers to add all of this functionality directly to their own systems. The PSoC FirstTouch starter kit is optimised for quick and easy evaluation. A small, thumb-drive form factor and PSoC pins accessible on the expansion card are just a few of the features that enable new customers to quickly evaluate PSoC-based solutions.
