Automotive high-accuracy 6-axis IMU with extended temperature for ASIL B

The ASM330LHBG1 6-axis IMU from STMicroelectronics offers ASIL B compliance when used with a certified software library, and has an extended temperature range up to 125°C.

To streamline development of ASIL B applications, the ASM330LHBG1 IMU is supplied with a safety manual, in addition to a software library which is certified according to ISO 26262:201.

This MEMS sensor module uses a robust and mature manufacturing process and integrates a 3-axis digital accelerometer and a 3-axis digital gyroscope.

The MEMS production flow meets automotive reliability standards and the ASM330LHBG1 is AEC-Q100 qualified, in addition to being suitable for use in industrial applications. The ASM330LHBG1 is fully tested over the temperature range from -40°C to 125°C to ensure the highest level of quality.

Using a proprietary micromachining processes, the sensing elements are combined with IC interfaces which are trimmed to match the sensing elements.

The ASM330LHBG1 has a full-scale acceleration range of ±2/±4/±8/±16g and a wide angular rate range of ±125/±250/±500/±1000/±2000/±4000dps. This means that the IMU can offer benefits to a broad range of automotive applications.

The IMU is optimized to offer superior output stability, extremely low noise, and six-channel output synchronization to enhance the accuracy of dead-reckoning algorithms.

The ASM330LHBG1 is available in a 14-lead plastic, land grid array (LGA) package.
