Compliant with the PMBus 1.3 signaling protocol, this non-isolated buck regulator with integrated MOSFETs and inductor is housed in a 10.6 mm x 6.5 mm x 3 mm package. The regulator supplies a continuous output current of up to 25 A, and 30 A peak.

The output voltage is digitally adjustable in a range from 0.3 V to 5.5 V from a 4.5 V to 20 V input. The regulator operates at switching frequencies up to 1.5 MHz. The architecture of the SiC951 provides a very fast transient response with minimum output capacitance and tight regulation over a broad load range.

The SiC951 has integrated internal compensation and is stable with any type of output capacitor. It incorporates a power-saving scheme which substantially increases light-load efficiency.

The SiC951 allows configuration programs to be stored in non-volatile memory. Operating parameters such as output voltage and output current can be locally stored and used to determine fault behavior. Configuration is firmware-based and field-upgradable.
