800 V SCR provides robust basis for inrush current-limiting circuits
The TN1605H-8T from STMicroelectronics handles high-temperature operation safely in a package with a small footprint, enabling power- and motor-system developers to produce compact inrush current-limiting designs.
The TN1605H-8T from STMicroelectronics is a 16 A/800 V-rated silicon-controlled rectifier (SCR) which can handle a high junction temperature of up to 150°C. It is housed in a compact TO-220AB package.
A combination of attractive features make the TN1605H-8T a valuable basis for robust and compact inrush current-limiting circuits and over-voltage crowbar protection in ac-dc converters:
- High noise immunity: dV/dt capability is specified at 500 V/μs at 150°C
- Low gate-triggering current: 8 mA maximum
- Turn-on current rise capability: dI/dt rating is 100 A/μs
This SCR is also suitable for ac line load switching, heating resistor controls, solid-state relays, and power bus discharge circuits.
