Water-resistant wire-to-wire connectors for small narrow internal spaces
DF62W Series of wire-to-wire connections from Hirose are designed for in-line connections in internal spaces which are small, narrow and difficult to connect.
The DF62W Series connectors feature a low profile and a pitch of 2.2mm. The mated dimensions of the plug and socket are just 27.1mm long, and the connector outline is contoured to prevent the connector from being trapped in small areas during wiring.
The simplified water-resistant structure ensures fast and user-friendly cable assembly. The water-resistant seals are pre-assembled so the crimped wire can be inserted directly into the housing without the need for additional tooling. Highly reliable barrel crimp contacts provide strong resistance against rough operation and vibration.
The box-shaped head of the female contact provides a mating guide which aligns the male contact to support smooth mating and to prevent buckling of the contact. The crimp contacts are designed to provide a tight fit into the housing which also prevents contact fretting. Correct engagement is confirmed by a positive lock which guarantees secure locking by giving a clear tactile sensation in addition to an audible click. A slot on the visible lock structure allows complete mating to be visually checked.
