Conductive elastomers provide EMI shielding up to 40GHz
For harsh consumer and industrial applications, TE Connectivity conductive elastomers combine electromagnetic interference shielding with environmental sealing, and are available in custom extruded and molded shapes.
TE Connectivity supplies a range of conductive elastomers with electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) shielding in addition to environmental shielding. The elastomers maintain a low-resistance conductive path, blocking radiation at interfaces.
Available in either silicone or fluorosilicone, the silicone variants are degradation-resistant to oxygen and ozone, while fluorosilicone is suitable for harsh environments with stronger resistance to swelling and chemicals.
The elastomers come with several conductive filler options:
- Nickel-plated graphite
- Silver-plated aluminum
- Nickel-plated aluminum
- Silver-plated copper
- Nickel
In addition to extruded profile elastomers, there are O-rings, and flat sheet gaskets in thicknesses beginning from 0.5mm, with a maximum operating temperature up to 160°C.
