To support the faster control loops and efficiency needed by industrial motors the PSC3M5FDS2ACQ1 PSOC™ Control C3 MCU from Infineon enables higher switching frequencies and supports wide bandgap (WBG) switches.
Task execution is advanced with hardware accelerators and there is a digital signal processor (DSP) and floating-point unit (FPU) in addition to a coordinate rotation digital computer (CORDIC) for the mathematical functions to accelerate control-loop calculations.
Based on an Arm® Cortex®-M33 core, the 32-bit MCU achieves 180MHz operation, and integrates up to 256kB of Flash memory and 64kB SRAM. The PSC3M5FDS2ACQ1 also cuts power consumption to make this MCU suitable for battery-powered applications.
The robust safety features offered by the PSC3M5FDS2ACQ1 MCU include Class B and SIL 2 libraries as well as certification to PSA Level 2, and EPC2 for security. IP protection and firmware updates for the MCU are enabled by a crypto accelerator, TrustZone™, and secured key storage.
