Fault-protected load switch simplifies automotive system power management
The AP22919Q from Diodes Incorporated performs slew rate control in automotive applications, helping the power-system designer to produce a stable and optimized power rail.

The AP22919Q from Diodes Incorporated is an automotive-compliant, single-channel load switch which provides a tightly controlled turn-on slew rate for automotive applications that require power control or power sequencing.
The integrated P-channel MOSFET power switch operates over an input-voltage range of 1.6 V to 5.5 V. Maximum load current is 1.5 A.
The ability of the AP22919Q to limit the ramp-up, slew, rate of its output voltage limits inrush current, ensuring a stable supply voltage. Short-circuit protection and thermal shutdown at 180°C provide further protection of the power rail: they protect both the device and the system if the output suffers from a short-to-ground fault. Fast short-circuit response time of 2 μs prevents unnecessary system shutdown or restart.
To ensure that the system will start up in a known state, the AP22919Q has a Quick Output Discharge (QOD) pin which can be used to discharge the output capacitor.
The load switch is manufactured in sites certified for IATF 16949 compliance, and provides PPAP support.
