High-precision magnetic angle sensor for demanding industrial and EV applications
Using tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) technology, the LF53464-80 angle sensor from Littelfuse offers exceptional thermal stability with high-precision measurement in demanding environments.
The LF53464-08 operates up to 7V, and has differential output, in addition to being compatible with a wide airgap. The magnetic angle measurement sensing is from 0° to 360° degree in the X and Y axis, and the low angle error is under 0.6° over a magnetic field from 200Gs to 800Gs.
With a dual-axis, orthogonal push-pull Wheatstone bridge architecture, each bridge integrates four high-sensitivity TMR elements, which deliver output voltage which is up to 65% of the supply voltage. The strength of this signal output cuts the need for external amplification or additional processing circuitry.
The LF53464-08 angle sensor also adjusts for variation in the ambient temperature. A magnet placed above the sensor creates a magnetic field which is parallel to the surface of the chip. The dual-axis output of the chip produces voltage signals in a sine/cosine relationship which is proportional to the angle of the magnetic field.
The LF53464-08 is in a compact LGA8L package which measures 3mm x 3mm x 0.75mm. For applications which need operating temperature up to 150°C, the LF53466-08 omni-polar magnetic angle sensor achieves angle error under 0.8 degrees, and is packaged in a TSSOP8.
