New space-saving LEDs produce bright blue or true green light output
The blue VLMB2332T1U2-08 LED and true green VLMTG2332ABCA-08 LEDs from Vishay take advantage of proprietary InGaN/sapphire technology to increase optical power and efficiency.
Vishay has introduced new blue and true green surface-mount LEDs in a small MiniLED package which produce up to four times brighter light output than earlier products in a PLCC-2 package.
Measuring 2.2 mm x 1.3 mm x 1.4 mm, the VLMB2332T1U2-08 and VLMTG2332ABCA-08 use new indium gallium nitride (InGaN) chip technology to produce typical luminous intensity of 440 mcd for the blue LED and 2,300 mcd for the true green LED.
Emitting at a typical wavelength of 525 nm at a drive current of 20 mA, the VLMTG2332ABCA-0 is ideal for fitness trackers and other applications which rely on variations in green light absorption to perform heart-rate monitoring.
The 465 nm blue emission of the VLMB2332T1U2-08, on the other hand, is for use in smoke detectors which use short-wavelength blue light for the detection of small particles suspended in the air.
