Scalable quad 25A dc-dc power module with PMBus in a BGA package
The MPM82504 is a 16V quad 25A, dc-dc power module from Monolithic Power Systems which is scalable and fully integrated with a PMBus interface and needs minimal external components.
With up to 25A from each of four output channels, the MPM82504 offers flexible configuration with the output channels being paralleled to provide 50A, 75A, or 100A of output current.Â
The MPM82504 can operate in parallel with additional MPM82504 modules, and the MPM3695-100 power module, to provide higher output current, and operates at high efficiency across a wide load range.
Based on multi-phase constant-on-time (MCOT) control, the MPM82504 offers ultra-fast transient response in addition to simple loop compensation. Flexible digital configuration and monitoring of key parameters are enabled by the PMBus interface. Telemetry readback covers input and output voltage, output current, temperature, and faults for each channel.
To deliver full protection, the MPM82504 power module integrates protection against over-current, over-voltage, under-voltage, under-voltage lockout and over-temperature conditions. These features are configurable with the PMBus interface.
