25A continuous output current from power module with digital interface
The MPM3695-20 scalable, fully integrated power module from Monolithic Power Systems features a digital interface to provide a complete power solution with up to 25A of continuous output current.
With excellent load and line regulation over an input voltage range from 3V to 16V with an external supply, or 4V to 16V with internal supply voltage, the MPM3695-20 offers high efficiency across a wide load range. The ability to be paralleled enables the power module to deliver a higher load current.
The multi-phase constant-on-time (MCOT) control provides ultra-fast transient response and eases loop compensation. The digital interface enables the module to be configured to meet specific settings and adds monitoring of key parameters. The multiple-time programmable memory can be used to store custom configurations.
Automatic interleaving supports multi-phase operation, and there is automatic compensation from adaptive multi-phase constant-on-time control which provides ultra-fast transient response. The MPM3695-20 also offers telemetry readback of parameters which include input and output voltage, output current, temperature and faults.
The digital interface allows configuration of the current limit, in addition to the selection of pulse-skip mode or continuous conduction mode. The digital interface can also be used to configure soft-start time and select switching frequency of 400kHz, 600kHz, 800kHz, or 1000kHz. Fault limits and ramp compensation can also be configured.
The full protection features offered by the MPM3695-20 cover over-current, over-voltage, under-voltage, and over-temperature conditions.
Needing a minimal number of external components, the MPM3695-20 further saves space with an ECLGA-29 package which measures 5mm x 6mm x 4.4mm.
