Turnkey trusted platform module with I2C interface and protected firmware update

A proven security solution is enabled by high-end security control from the SLB9673 trusted platform module (TPM), from Infineon. This TPM features an I2C interface and protects firmware updates with post-quantum cryptography (PQC).

The high level of security is also supported by certification to the Common Criteria and Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS). The cryptographic operations which are enabled by the SLB9673 are faster, and integration with Windows and Linux OS platforms is also simplified.

The SLB9673 enables network infrastructure devices and equipment to be identified and authenticated, as well as industrial factory robots and programmable logic controllers (PLC).

The turnkey security provided by the OPTIGA™ TPM SLB9673 is designed to be future-proof, due to the stronger algorithms which have longer key lengths and PQC-protected firmware updates. This integrates resiliency against potentially destructive attacks for the platform firmware and data.

The OPTIGA™ TPM SLB9673 modules support different temperature ranges and offer features for computing platforms and embedded systems which need to integrate robust security:

  • Protection of keys and secrets
  • Anti-counterfeiting
  • Device health check to verify device integrity
  • Secured firmware update
  • Secured cloud onboarding
  • Secure channel for encrypted, protected communication with transport layer security (TLS)

In addition to the SLB9673 with an I2C interface, the SLB9672 also offers PQC-protected firmware updates, and a serial peripheral interface (SPI).
