Increased depth sensing and 3D imaging of fast-moving objects with iToF sensor
With an on-chip depth processing ASIC, and dual laser driver thresholds, the AF0130 Hyperlux™ ID indirect time of flight (iToF) sensor from onsemi significantly increases depth measurement and adds to eye safety.
As a global shutter depth and imaging solution, the AF0130 is a 1/3.2-inch optical format, back side illuminated (BSI) CMOS iToF sensor. The sensor features on-chip dual laser driver controls to manage eye-safety thresholds, and modulation frequencies up to 200MHz.
The depth processing ASIC is stacked below the pixel area and uses laser modulated exposures to calculate depth, confidence and intensity maps at high speed.
To simplify integration and reduce system costs, the AF0130 iToF sensor uses onboard processing to enable precision measurements of moving objects and high-resolution images.
This can help to reduce errors and downtime in addition to optimizing the manufacturing process. In addition to industrial applications, the AF0130 can be used to enhance facial recognition, gesture detection and 3D videoconferencing in commercial applications.
For designers who prefer to perform depth calculations off-chip, there is the AF0131 sensor which offers the same performance but with no on-chip depth processing.
