Optimize switching with this isolated gate driver which drives and protects
The combination of fast turn-on and -off times, with under-voltage lockout (UVLO) and active shut-down protection, enables the Littelfuse IX3407B single-channel, isolated gate driver to optimize switching performance.
In addition to driving MOSFETs, IGBTs and SiC power transistors, the logic inputs of the IX3407B enable this driver to support a wide range of control logic with voltage down to 3.3V.
The 7A peak source and sink current is output on separate pins, as well as 2,500Vrms input-to-output galvanic isolation. This isolation is enabled by an technique in which the low-voltage transmitter die, and the high-voltage receiver die, are isolated by high-voltage capacitors which are integrated into the driver.
Protection for input and output is provided by under-voltage lockout (UVLO) in addition to active shutdown. This protects the power transistor by pulling the output low when there is a loss of the supply voltage on the output.
The IX3407B isolated gate driver is offered in a wide-bodied SOIC-8 and has approval to UL 1577 E546287.
