Ultra-low-power radio in wireless MCU to boost multiprotocol support and battery life
Get high wireless performance, and a longer battery life, with the STM32WBA23KE 2.4GHz wireless MCU from STMicroelectronics which integrates a +10dBm output radio to support Bluetooth® LE, Zigbee and Thread.
Based on a Arm® Cortex®-M33 core, operating at 64MHz, the STM32WBA23KE also integrates 512KB of Flash memory.
The 2.4GHz radio provides support for up to eight antennas and an external power amplifier, in addition to a packet traffic arbitration (PTA) interface.
The Cortex®-M33 core offers a single-precision floating-point unit (FPU), and supports all of the Arm single-precision data-processing instructions and data types. Also offered by the core is a full set of digital signal processing (DSP) instructions and a memory protection unit (MPU) to boost application security.
The high-speed memories in the STM32WBA23KE are 512KB of Flash and 96KB of SRAM, in addition to a quad-SPI (QSPI) memory interface. The range of I/Os and peripherals are connected to the advanced high-performance bus (AHB) and the advanced peripheral bus (APB) on the 32-bit multi-AHB matrix.
Security on the STM32WBA23KE is compliant with the Arm trusted-based security architecture (TBSA) and offers a secure boot, secure data storage, and secure firmware update. Flexible life cycle management is through multi-level readout protection and debug unlock with password.
The isolation of firmware hardware is supported by securable peripherals, memories and I/Os, in addition to privilege configuration of peripherals and memories. Protection for the embedded Flash memory and SRAM is provided by readout protection, write protection, secure, and hide protection areas, and package UFQFPN48 offers up to 20 GPIOs.
Security peripherals are a fast AES coprocessor, a public key accelerator (PKA) with DPA resistance, a HASH hardware accelerator, and a true random number generator. Active tamper detection is also provided and there is protection against transient perturbation attacks with internal monitoring which generates secret data erasure in the case of an attack.
