Space-saving FPC and FFC connector offer flexibility and reliability
The TF31 Series of front flip flexible printed circuit (FPC) and flat flexible cable (FFC) connectors from Hirose offer a bottom contact in addition to two contact pitch options and two heights.
With a pitch of 0.5mm or 1mm, the TF31 connectors offer a height of 1.75mm for connectors with 4 to 20 pins, and 2mm height with pin counts from 21 to 60. These options give a greater degree of design flexibility.
To ensure precise FPC/FFC positioning, and to reinforce stability as well as retention force, the TF31 connectors feature advanced side catcher technology to provide connection security.
The actuator opens to approximately 110° to give a smooth and reliable insertion of a FPC/FFC cable and to provide a simplified ease of use.
Accidental separation from the housing ensures durability, as the actuator axle is held from above by each contact. The security of the connection is also guaranteed by the design which resists interference by preventing unintended opening of the actuator
The bottom surface of the TF31 connectors is over-molded to allow additional routing to be taken beneath the connector. Mass production is also streamlined as the connectors support automated pick-and-place mounting.
