High-current, waterproof wire-to-wire connectors for internal power supplies
The DF63W Series of connectors from Hirose offers cable mount, female crimp sockets and in-line crimp plugs and the ability to handle current up to 14A. With a 3.96mm pitch, the outline of the connectors is slim, smooth and contoured to prevent the connector becoming trapped when being wired in a small area.
All of the metal parts of the connector are completely covered, and the connector is rated to IP67 for waterproofing. The water-resistant seals are pre-assembled so that the crimped wire can be inserted directly into the housing without the need for additional tooling. This simplifies the cable assembly process so that connection is fast and user friendly.
To ensure secure locking, the robust lock gives a clear tactile click when mated, which confirms that the connector is fully engaged. This guarantees complete electrical and mechanical connection. To avoid uneven locking and cable entanglement, which is common with side locks, the lock on the DF63W connectors is on the center of the housing. Two different seal diameters allow a range of cable sizes to be used, and guide keys are available to prevent incorrect mating.
