Accuracy and stability from high-reliability automotive chip temperature sensor
Precise temperature monitoring is vital in high-density automotive applications and the new NCU18WM474J6SRB high-reliability, negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor from Murata combines high accuracy with long-term aging stability.
In a surface-mount 0603-size case, measuring 1.6mm x 0.8mm, the NCU18WM474J6SRB thermistor offers nominal B-constant from 4,500K to 4,549K. The B-constant defines the relationship between the resistance and temperature of the NTC thermistor. To simplify design, the same B-constant is offered for the same resistance across different case sizes, which also supports increasing component density and miniaturizing circuit size.
The high resistance accuracy has ±5% tolerance, and the thermistor offers excellent flow and reflow solderability in addition to high stability in automotive operating conditions.
To enable wide range of temperature sensing, the NCU18WM474J6SRB thermistor is rated to operate over temperatures from -55°C to 150°C.
Applications which benefit from using the NCU18WM474J6SRB thermistor include automotive equipment for running, turning, and stopping, in addition to equipment which needs to meet technical standards for safety assurance or environmental protection.
