Contactless authentication and secured configuration from an NFC-I2C bridge tag

The NBT2000A8K0T4 OPTIGA™ Authenticate NFC-I2C bridge tag (NBT) from Infineon supports IoT devices by enabling contactless authentication in addition to secure configuration.

The power for the OPTIGA Authenticate NBT can be delivered from an external NFC field by connecting the NFC reader to the NFC tag application over the contactless interface and an externally connected antenna.

The embedded software in the OPTIGA Authenticate NBT includes an NFC tag application. This complies with the NFC Forum Tag application specification for Type 4 Tag Listener for NFC-A, as well as NFC-to-I2C bridge functionality.

Applications for the NFC bridge tag cover Bluetooth® or Wi-Fi® pairing, headless configuration and product activation, in addition to key-less entry. The NFC tag can be used for accessory authentication, and for brand protection with offline and online verification.
