Cost-optimized RFID reader with integrated HF antenna and low power consumption
Small size, low power consumption and flexibility are combined by the TWN4 MultiTech HF Mini RFID reader module from ELATEC.
Designed to bring advantages to small applications, the single-frequency T4MR-F module reads frequencies in the 13.56MHz RFID band and adds support for near field communication (NFC). With a size of 33mm x 30mm x 11mm, the T4MR-F reader can be integrated directly integrated into almost any host system board, to deliver a compact RFID solution.
Communication with the host is the asynchronous serial TTL interface, and there also two LEDs which can be controlled by software. If an application needs to provide additional security, an external secure access module (SAM) can be connected.
Other outstanding features of the reader are four ports which can be user-configured as input or output, in addition to supporting the use of a beeper and integrating a high-performance antenna.
A powerful software development kit (SDK) is available for writing apps which are executed directly on the module, and in-the-field upgrades to firmware are supported, in addition to transparent data exchange with the RFID media.
