Tri-band system-on-chip combines Wi-Fi 6 with Bluetooth v6.0 and Bluetooth LE
The AIROC™ CYW55513 from Infineon is a flexible tri-band single-chip combo which integrates Wi-Fi® 6, with Bluetooth® v6.0 and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) in a single chip.
The AIROC CYW55513 wireless chipset is integrated into the Ezurio Sona™ IF513 Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6.0 Module as well as in the Murata LBEE5XV2FY-922 Type 2FY module.
The Ezurio Sona IF513 module also integrates a power amplifier and low-noise amplifier with a 1 x 1 MU-SISO antenna to enable reliable connectivity in harsh RF environments. The module is supplied with a Linux Backports package to provide compatibility with the Linux® operating system.
The CYW55513 is also integrated in the high-performance LBEE5HY2FY-922 Murata Type 2FY module which is in very small package for integration into applications which are constrained by size and power.
By combining Wi-Fi 6 and 6E, the AIROC CYW55513 allows sensors and lights to be connected over a very long range with Bluetooth® Low Energy. This enables intelligent sensors to be used for the smart control of lights, when the host system senses the presence or absence of people in a conference room, as well as for conference bridge functionality.
The single-stream AIROC CYW55513 wireless transceiver supports 2.4GHz, 5GHz, 6GHz and provides an IEEE 802.11ax-compliant Wi-Fi 6/6E media access controller, baseband and radio, in addition to a Bluetooth/Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) v6.0 radio sub-system.
Bluetooth is controlled by a 192MHz Arm® Cortex®-M33 processor, Bluetooth Classic and Bluetooth LE functions. These run in hosted, controller mode, or in the embedded mode, which off-loads Bluetooth control from the host processor.
The Bluetooth features supported by the AIROC CYW55513 include LE Audio, LE2 data transfers at 2Mbits/s, LE1 at 1Mbit/s, Bluetooth Low Energy long-range (LR) mode, and periodic advertising extensions.
