Wide bandwidth, low-noise industrial IMU, with AI, sensor fusion and Qvar

For motion tracking and vibration measurements, the ISM330BX from STMicroelectronics is a system-in-package inertial measurement unit (IMU) with a 3-axis digital accelerometer and 3-axis digital gyroscope and triple processing channels.

These channels process data on acceleration and angular rate, and the ISM330BX also features Qvar sensing on up to three separate channels with dedicated configuration, processing at 960Hz, and filtering.

Advanced features and data processing for motion processing include a programmable finite state machine (FSM), sensor fusion low power (SFLP), adaptive self-configuration (ASC), and a machine learning core (MLC) with exportable AI features and filters for IoT applications.

The accelerometer features a flat, wide bandwidth with 2kHz frequency response and low noise of 70μg/√Hz over the SPI, I2C, I3C interface, and down to 30μg/√Hz over the time-division multiplexing (TDM) interface. The selectable full scale of the 3-axis accelerometer is ±2/±4/±8g.

The gyroscope offers an extended selectable full scale with a range of ±125/±250/±500/±1000/±2000/±4000dps.

The low supply current in high-performance mode achieves 0.6mA in combo mode, and 0.19mA with the accelerometer only. The analog hub provides analog-to-digital conversion in addition to processing data from the analog input.

The ISM330BX is offered in a compact LGA-14L package which has dimensions of 2.5mm x 3.0mm x 0.71mm.
