Wire-wound surface-mount inductors offer excellent dc bias characteristics

TAIYO YUDEN supplies a family of wire-wound metal power inductors, the MCOIL™ LCDN series, which are AEC-Q200 qualified for use in automotive body, chassis, and infotainment applications. The LCDN inductors make use of metallic magnetic materials to provide excellent dc bias characteristics. 

The LCDN series inductors are available in three package sizes: 

• 2 mm x 2 mm 2020 series with inductance values ranging from 0.47 µH to 10 µH
• 3 mm x 3 mm 3030 series with inductance values ranging from 0.47 µH to 10 µH
• 4 mm x 4 mm 4040 series with inductance values ranging from 0.68 µH to 10 µH

Tolerance of the nominal inductance value is ±20% across the entire family. The operating-temperature range of the LCDN inductors is -40°C to 125°C, making them suitable for use in harsh automotive conditions.
