Allegro MicroSystems evaluation boards simplify the evaluation process for its tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR) current sensors. The boards provide test points for convenient access to device pins, allowing for quick measurement and validation without the need for complex test set-ups.Â
The board’s six-layer PCB with 2 oz copper weight on all layers offers good thermal performance and heat dissipation, for precise and reliable current measurements.Â
Sensor integrated current loop resistance can be measured directly on the evaluation board. The voltage drop can also be measured, to enable designers to approximate power loss in the package.Â
Allegro supplies a bare PCB without the sensor mounted on it. This is for the design engineer to assemble the board with the desired current sensor IC.
