The STEVAL-A6983CV1 and STEVAL-A6983NV1 from STMicroelectronics are evaluation boards for testing the performance of the A6983C and A6983N series automotive-grade synchronous monolithic step-down regulators. The A6983C regulators are optimized for low power consumption in light-load mode, and the A6983N are optimized for low-noise operation.
The STEVAL-A6983CV1 and STEVAL-A6983NV1 feature a Power good open collector which monitors the feedback voltage. Pulse-by-pulse current sensing on both power elements provides for effective constant-current protection. Thermal shutdown prevents thermal run-away.
