Microcontroller delivers high-resolution and performance for mixed-signal designs

The mainstream STM32G474RET6 MCU from STMicroelectronics features an Arm® Cortex®-M4 32-bit RISC core, a single-precision floating-point unit (FPU), digital signal processing (DSP) and extensive analog and digital peripherals.

Also integrated in the STM32G474RET6 MCU are high-speed memories, with up to 512Kbytes of Flash, 128Kbytes of SRAM, and a Quad-SPI Flash memory interface. The enhanced I/Os and peripherals are connected to two advanced peripheral buses (APBs), two advanced high-performance buses (AHBs) and a 32-bit multi-AHB bus matrix.

The embedded Flash memory and SRAM have protection for readout and write, as well as for the securable memory area and proprietary code readout.

Security is supported by the integrated memory protection unit (MPU) and the core handles frequency up to 170MHz. For mathematical/arithmetic acceleration, the CORDIC supports trigonometric functions and the FMAC unit accelerates filter functions.

The comprehensive list of analog peripherals offers multiple fast ADCs and comparators, operational amplifiers, DAC channels and an internal voltage reference buffer. There is a low-power RTC with backup, and multiple timers which include PWM timers dedicated to motor control, and a high-resolution timer with 184ps resolution.

The standard and advanced communication interfaces support I2C, SPI, USART, UART, FDCAN, SAI, USB and UCPD. The range of power-saving modes allows the STM32G474RET6 MCU to be used in applications which need to maintain low power consumption.

The independent power supplies which are supported include an analog independent supply input for ADC, DAC, operational amplifiers and comparators.

The temperature ranges are -40°C to 85°C with 105°C junction, and -40°C to 125°C with 130°C junction temperature from a 1.71V to 3.6V power supply.
