The ecoSpinā¢ ECS640A Motor Control Development Kit enables designers to easily develop code for offline variable-speed brushless dc (BLDC) motor systems with power ratings from 50 W to 600 W at 230 V ac. The board can also be configured for power loads up to 150 W powered by 120 V ac mains supplies.
Designers can get started quickly using Direct Torque Flux Control (DTFC) firmware loaded on the ECS640A and a GUI for evaluation of the motorās parameters and performance. DTFC firmware allows for optimal motor performance on the ArmĀ® CortexĀ®-M0+ platform.Ā
The Strata Product Developer Studio and collateral are available to allow the designer to download and program libraries of sensorless trapezoidal control examples. A separate GUI is provided to interface to the board while running trapezoidal control of a BLDC motor.Ā
The trapezoidal control project supplied by onsemi can be used as a reference to enable rapid code development for the applicationās motor. A base software development kit is also available to allow engineers to develop their own trapezoidal, sine, or field-oriented commutation (FOC) code.
