STMicroelectronics

The EVALSTGAP2SICS half-bridge board from STMicroelectronics enables evaluation of the STGAP2SICS, an isolated single-channel gate driver for silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFETs. The STGAP2SiCS produces an output drive current of up to 4 A, and offers galvanic isolation of 6 kV.

In the EVALSTGAP2SiCS board, the STGAP2SiCS drives a half-bridge power stage with a voltage rating of up to 1,200 V. The components are easy to access on the board and to modify.

The board supports negative gate driving. Onboard isolated dc-dc converters supply the high- and low-side gate drivers, with maximum isolation of 5.2 kV.

The configuration of the drive voltage can be easily selected from the following options:

  • +17 V/0 V
  • +17 V/-3 V
  • +19 V/0 V
  • +19 V/-3 V
Microchip

The PIC16F131 Curiosity Nano evaluation kit from Microchip offers complete support for development with the PIC16F131 family of microcontrollers. With the award-winning MPLAB X integrated development platform and MPLAB Code Configurator (MCC), the kit enables access to the configurable logic block (CLB) module and other core-independent peripherals on the PIC16F13145 MCU.

MCC is a free, graphical programming tool that enables designers to configure a wide array of peripherals and functions tailored to the application.

The kit’s contents are a PIC16F13145 Curiosity Nano evaluation board, and two 100mil, 1×15-pin header strips.

The range of uses for LiDAR sensors is expanding to include not only autonomous driving, but also applications in the industrial and infrastructure fields. Improvements to LiDAR sensors are producing longer range and higher resolution.

In addition to improving the characteristics of the laser diode, it is necessary to drive the laser diode at higher speeds and power. The ROHM RLD90QZWx series is a line of 905 nm, high-power, narrow emission-width laser diodes.

The REFLD002-1 reference design includes the BD2311NVX-LB gate driver to drive the RLD90QZWx laser diode. The high speed of the BD2311NVX-LB contributes to improved LiDAR sensor range and resolution.

The STEVAL-LLL014V1 evaluation kit features the SPC582B60E1 32-bit automotive-grade microcontroller for controlling the ALED7709 LED driver via an I2C interface. The main board can be configured and controlled via a Mini-USB connection to a PC running the STSW-LLL014GUI software. The kit also includes an LED board with four strings of 10 LEDs.

Power Integrations

The RDK-919Q is a development board for the INN3949CQ, a member of the InnoSwitch3-AQ family of power conversion ICs. Operating from an input-voltage range of 50 V to 1000 V dc, ideal for use in 800 V bus systems, the board provides an isolated power supply for loads of up to 60 W, at an output voltage of 24 V. Conversion efficiency is 82%.

The RDK-919Q works in hot conditions: at 85°C, it can provide a continuous 20 W output with an input at 1,000 V dc.

The board offers all the benefits of secondary-side control with the simplicity of primary-side regulation: it is insensitive to transformer variation, and provides extremely fast transient response which is independent of load timing. The maximum output ripple voltage is 240 mV.
